3 Common Sources of Hidden Dirt in the Home
We all look to think that our homes are as clean as they can be. We take the time to clean and tidy, making sure that everything looks, smells, and feels fresh and clean. Whilst simply making this effort may be just enough, there are some spots in our homes that can get dirty, without us even realizing it.
Do you want to make sure that you tackle all of the hidden dirty spots in your home? Let us help you by sharing some of the most common sources of hidden dirt that you may not know exist in your home.
Computer keyboards
If you have been working from home, or you simply have a laptop or computer in your house, then you may be interested to know that one of the dirtiest spots in your home is hiding in your keyboard.
Over time and with regular use, computer keywords can collect dead skin cells and dust in your house, which can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Every time you are using that keyboard, you will be picking up that bacteria and spreading it around the rest of your house, all without even realizing it.
Remember that electronics are tricky to clean, and you don’t want to get any water near them. It is a much better idea to use an antibacterial wipe to clean the surface of the keys, then use a can of compressed air to clean out the gaps within the keyboard. Moving all the debris out of the keyboard.
Kitchen cabinets
They say out of sight is out of mind; however, sometimes you need to look at those places that you wouldn’t usually see to make sure that they are as clean as possible. This is true for kitchen cabinets, or should we say on top of them. More often than not, you will wipe your doors down as they can get splashes and splatters on them from general food prep and cooking.
However, what about the tops of those cabinets? You might not find food stains up there, but what you see is grease from the cooking that has floated up there, mixing in with commonplace dust, which it had to get rid of if you leave it.
Air conditioning units
If you have an air conditioning unit in your home, you are likely to take it working and provide you with clean for granted. However, unless you keep on top of cleaning and maintaining these systems, you simply allow the system to push germ-ridden air back into your home.
Not only is it essential to clean out the unit regularly (particularly after the Summer months when you will have been using it more), but it can also help you to see if it is in good condition too. You will want to make sure that you check whether or not you will need to book in for any AC repair that is needed, as if you can catch them earlier rather than later, you will be able to get them fixed quickly.
As you can see, there are plenty of spots in your home that you may not realize can get dirty, simply because that dirt is hidden away. Make sure that you think about where these places may be and get to cleaning them; you may be surprised by what you find.
