To avoid having summer-related health risks, here are four things you should always have on you when heading out.
- Sunglasses that block harmful radiation
If you’re thinking about heading out, do not forget your sunglasses. Contrary to what you may think, sunglasses are not mere fashion accessories to help you look cool. They serve a greater purpose. Sunglasses that block 99 to 100% of the sun’s harmful radiation are a must-have for your outdoor activities. The eye’s corneas are particularly susceptible to damage from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. A pair of good sunglasses can protect your corneas from getting burned. Sunglasses come in different types, so be sure to choose one that is best for your summer activities. For example, if you plan on reading a book at the beach, you can add a pair of sunglass readers to your must-haves.
- A bottle of water or juice
Dehydration is another common health risk that comes with the summer. And with many outdoor activities packed during the day, it’s easy to go without drinking fluids for hours without realizing it. Dehydration can lead to headaches, tiredness, confusion, and even delirium. And the last thing you want is for these health risks to mar your summer holidays or, even worse, adversely affect your health.
