What We Thought:

First lets just say that I have wanted porch furniture since I moved into this house. We have a great covered porch with lots of potential. Porch furniture can get expensive though, and we have not had the means to provide our porch the makeover that we really wanted it to have, so basically we have pieced it together one thing at a time.

We started with a blank slate and have transformed the porch into a meaningful place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of country living.

Best Choice Products offered this amazing White Wood Porch Rocker for us to review and I jumped for joy, literally! From the minute I knew the order was shipped I was busy tracking it and seeing when it would be at our house. Saturday came and while we were at a party it arrived. I knew that I would be too tired to put it together that night, but first thing Sunday morning I was a woman on a mission.

This rocker was really easy to put together and that is saying a LOT coming from me. Ask my blogging partner, who knows that my tool list is limited and I have been known to put together things with a butter knife while my husband was at work because I didn’t know where the screwdriver was. That was a few years ago, but we still get a laugh out of it. For this project I broke out the big girl tools and actually used a drill thanks to my husband with a bit that fit the screws perfectly. The screws do some with a hex key to aid in assembly but I found it hard to turn and went for the big guns.

From box to sitting in less than 30 minutes

I was happy with the assembly time and the fact that the photo for assembly was so easy to follow. I had my husband hold the pieces so that I could use the drill and in no time we had a beautiful chair for our porch.

See this pillow– There is a story behind it and I knew that it HAD to have a home in the new rocker. Now while the chair doesn’t rock very much (which is a great thing if you are using it indoors to prevent wall damage) I wanted the bottom to have a pillow. My husband said we could buy one, but I wanted something more personal.

My Grandma always had the cutest little vanity set up and with the vanity had a stool that this pillow sat on the entire time I was a child. I remember sitting there spritzing on perfume and doing all kinds of girly things including using foam rollers on my hair.

When my Grandma passed away 2 years ago I acquired the pillow but didn’t have a place to put it so it stayed in storage. Yesterday it emerged to see the light of day again and I couldn’t be more proud. It feels just like I remember it and now it has a home right in our Best Choice Products Rocker!
