What We Thought
Finding a manly Valentine’s Day gift is always something that I struggle with. Something that doesn’t scream glitter, roses and chocolate. This year my husband Patrick got the Craft Beer Club to review and let me tell you him and one of his closest friends found the closest thing to heaven.
On a busy Saturday morning FedEx arrived with a big box and Patrick was anxious to sign for it and check out what was inside. (Alcohol deliveries require someone over the age of 21 to be present and sign)
Here is what came in the box:
- 12 beers
- Amazing coasters
- A bottle opener (a VERY NICE bottle opener at that!)
- Beer Connoisseur magazine
The beers were already chilly when they arrived because we were having days where the weather barely made it above freezing. Patrick knew that evening he was going to have a friend over and they were going to taste the beers together. We packaged them back up in the great Styrofoam box that they came in and headed out the door to run errands.
We got home about 6-7 hours later and guys, the beers were still chilled!
I want to touch on their favorite beer but please note that they are all amazing according to my guy reviewers.
For those who do not know, my husband is a retired Deputy Sheriff. He loves to back the blue, but we support every first responder. One of the beers pays tribute to first responders. 16 Mile Ale Responders Ale was a favorite here for so many reasons, but here is more info about that ale:
Light on the palate and crisp from start to finish, Responders Ale demonstrates the fundamental importance of premium ingredients. Choice English barley, a touch of wheat and mild bittering provide the foundation for this light-bodied beer whose story is not light on fortitude. We honor and give thanks to our emergency responders. $3 from every case and $5 from every keg will be donated to the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation.
What an amazing way for a company to give back!
The other beers were great tasting which is something that I am not one to say about a lot of beers. I prefer local small batch beers and this club is just that!
Give a month, or give several months. $42 per month can make your guy happy and hey, even if it doesn’t arrive in time a nice note to say what is on the way would be perfect, right?!
