About Crayola Crayon Factory-

Recycle old crayon bits into colorful reusable crayons with the Crayola Crayon Factory. Designed to work with most standard size Crayola crayons, this electric-powered accessory lets kids create custom toys with colors of their choice. Simply feed crayon bits into the factory and watch as they melt and transform into cool, colorful figurines. The kit comes with three molds and eight full-sized crayons, so kids can start recycling crayons right out of the box. And because the resultant figurines are made of crayon wax, kids can use them for either drawing or playing.

What We Thought-

I love doing reviews where I can involve our son in them and include his thoughts and ideas. I have to say that the photography above was in part by Jack who is 3 1/2. We did this review together since it does involve some heat and electricity.

The Crayola Crayon Factory was fun from the moment we opened the box and I can see why it is such an acclaimed product. Jack and I had a blast creating our own new crayons and we even used the unwrapping tool to add some crayons that had a hint of glitter. I wish I had gotten a photo of that one because it was really pretty, but wasn’t much interest to our son who is “all boy.”

Unboxing this awesome product was simple and didn’t include a lot of trash which is always a perk for me because we end up with a lot of box trash when doing reviews, especially those for kids products.

We had it all set up and ready to use within minutes, which is another perk for those of us who have impatient kids that just want to have fun. Very little reading was required to set up and we were well on our way to making our own crayon creations. The green car pictured above was our first creation which shows that even on the first go you can have a perfect product.

I really enjoyed the Crayola Crayon Factory and everything about it, including the size of the overall product and the fact that the molds can be stored within the product so there is no need to have other parts all over the house. This is small enough to store just about anywhere and now I feel like we will never again waste crayons when they are broken and no longer able to color in books. We will turn them into beautiful creations while making memories.

The Crayola Crayon Factory is the newest addition to our 2016 Holiday Gift Guide as an awesome gift for kids. At a retail price on the Crayola site of $34.99 this is a great sharing gift for families with one child or multiple children.
