About Delysia Chocolatier: Delysia is an artisan chocolate company located in Austin, Texas, owned by Chef Nicole Patel. All of their chocolates are handmade at their Culinary Center & Chocolate Boutique with fresh ingredients and sustainable chocolates. Delysia is one of the few chocolate companies in the USA to use ethically sourced cacao. And, over 80% of their product line is gluten free and kosher!
I received two collections, the Gentleman’s Collection, featuring scotch, dark, and cigar flavors enrobed in dark chocolates, and the Texas Hill Country Collection featuring Smoked Salted Bourbon Pecan Caramel, Mexican Mole, and Honey Chipotle chocolates enrobed in dark, milk, and white chocolates. Both collections were enclosed in Delysia’s signature red and white boxes enclosed with a satin ribbon, and the collections themselves arrived nestled in elegant tissue paper with a note from owner and Chef Nicole. This made for an extremely appealing presentation, perfect for gift giving.
Now, onto the important part-how’s the chocolate?! In a word, heavenly. The chocolate is very smooth, with a good ‘snap’ when you bite into it. The dark chocolate is a perfect balance of sweet and dark, while the milk and white chocolates are equally tasty with the perfect sweetness. The flavors are true to life, but not overwhelming, allowing you to enjoy both the taste and the chocolate. Of the ones I received, my favorites were the honey chipotle and cigar flavors. Additionally, the collections I received featured cute edible graphics to match each boxes’ theme-cowboy boots, stars, and circles, which was a cute, whimsical touch.
This would be a perfect Father’s Day gift, especially for the dad who has everything like mine. My father was present when I received the items and I barely managed to taste the Gentleman’s Collection before he made off with it. He is still talking about how good these chocolates are-so these are truly “Dad Approved”. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m ordering some of these for his Father’s Day gift. If you’re in the Austin area, I highly recommend stopping by Delysia and experiencing the chocolatier for yourself.
