I received the mentioned products from The Mason Jar Cookie Company in exchange for an honest review. The opinions contained within this post are mine and may vary from the opinions of others.
About The Mason Jar Cookie Company
We love homemade cookies. Or pretty much anything buttery, sugary and warm. And we like what we like, our way, because we don’t have the time to mess around. We want it fast. We want it easy. We want it delicious. And that’s pretty much where the Mason Jar Cookie Company came from.
We set out to create a way that anybody – master baker or complete klutz in the kitchen – could make yummy, wholesome goodies from scratch – without the work, the mess or the fuss. Cookies, Brownies, Granola, Pancakes and more – all were on our list.
And we wanted it to be not only natural, but naturally packaged too. So we chose a Mason Jar, ’cause for us there’s nothing that says RE-USE ME more than a classic glass Mason Jar. And it’s just so darn cool.
What We Thought
‘Tis the season… well almost.. but the baking bug bit in our home recently when we got the opportunity to review cookie mixes, a brownie mix and also chocolate chip pancake mix from The Mason Jar Cookie Company and I decided to roll with it.
A little back story, I used to work in a bakery when I was a teenager. I was homeschooled and took a day job when I finished up my schooling. I loved every minute of it, especially getting into baking and learning more about what actually went into making great tasting baked goods. The memories made in that bakery are some I carry today and still smile about them. The holidays were INSANE there, but still so much fun.
Anyway, back to my review as I notice today I am getting so sidetracked with everything that I attempt–
The package arrived from The Mason Jar Cookie Company and Jack wanted to bake everything right then. There was no way even I could pull that off, but we started with a batch of Triple Chocolate (semisweet, milk & white chocolate) cookies. I pulled the ingredients needed from my fridge and while I was hesitant that the simple butter and egg would make great cookies, I did what the instructions said. I took this time to educate Jack on proper hand washing while cooking because the instructions told us to mix with our hands and off we went! These mixed up and we baked them. DELICIOUS! This batch was made on a chilly day and we had a hearty dinner topped off with these amazing cookies. Of course there was milk, too.
I experimented next with the Brownie Decadence and got the same delicious results. At this point I was a believer. Now, getting the ingredients out of the containers was a little tricky, but I found that using a butter knife helped me so much and made everything fall right into my mixing bowl. I love that when I read the labels on all of these products I know exactly what is in them.
The cookies shown in the picture are called O! Christmas Tree and let me tell you they beat any cookie I have EVER tasted. We had a particularly long day and I decided that after the kids were in bed I would make these and just sit down and indulge with my husband in some television and snacks. I had them mixed up and ready to hit the oven in no time and got the first batch out, which by that time the entire house was smelling amazing. The next thing I knew I heard footsteps and there was Jack… the smells had woken him up and he was ready to chow down. There was no debating, he got a cup out and was ready for his milk. It was 9 PM and I thought “you only live once” so we enjoyed cookies as a family (the baby didn’t make a peep) and made some memories. This y’all is what life is all about!
Retailing from $6.99-$13.99 per package (depending on if you get the jar or the jar-like pouch) this is an amazing deal and would make the best gift for a baking family member or friend. We are adding The Mason Jar Cookie Company to our 2017 Holiday Gift Guide!!
We still have 2 products left to review and another post will follow soon, but I had to post this update on where we stood with this amazing company. Keep an eye on our social media for more posts about The Mason Jar Cookie Company and keep your eyes peeled here on the blog as well for more posts!
