What We Thought:
Several weeks ago I had surgery and have been recovering some days better than others. The summer months have been boring, so we made the most of Monster High 2 and turned this into a 2 day event here at home. My boys had never seen the first movie, so on day one we watched that to introduce them to the characters and get them super excited for Monster High 2.
By the 2nd day we had plans to make some movie inspired cake pops which I am sure many of you saw on our social media, but here is a picture either way.

I admit to having just as much fun as the boys did making these because quite honestly, I hadn’t been baking or cooking much at all since my surgery and we wanted something fun to do. We talked about the first movie while making these and got all hyped up for the 2nd.
We made some microwave popcorn and added to our little popcorn containers (thanks Dollar Tree!!) and sat down with our snacks ready to watch the movie.
The boys absolutely loved the characters, but my favorite part was the music. I love that this was a movie we could sit down together and watch without me feeling bored or the boys feeling like this was way over their heads. They both got into this and loved every second.
My oldest loved the characters and really found himself getting very engrossed by the entire movie. I don’t want to give any spoilers but if you loved the first Monster High you will find this one hard to turn away from. We can only hope there will be more movies in this series and more fun memories being made with the boys while we watch it.
As a parent I loved the message of this movie including friendship. These days it is hard for some children to feel included and welcomed and I found this movie to be very inclusive feeling and teaching the proper lessons.
If you are looking for a fun rainy day inside activity this is definitely the one.
