Nutrisystem Weight Loss Journey Week 3 Getting My Exercise In
After being on the Nutrisystem program for two weeks and losing 6 lbs I was so excited, but I knew I could do bettter. Â Why? Well, I was not getting regular exercise and I knew if I was I may have lost even a little more. Â I work from home online so it is hard for me to get moving. When I worked in the salon I was standing on my feet all day and running around from room to room. Â Even working in the office I would get more exercise than I do now, the bathrooms were further away, break rooms were down the hall and I always walked somewhere to get lunch. With what I do now, I am lucky if I get up once to use the bathroom out of an 8 hour day. If you use the computer a lot you know how fast time can fly by. Â I start writing and posting at 8 a.m and the next thing I know the kids are getting home, 3pm. Â I get sucked into what I am doing and forget about everything else. Crazy!
So how do I combat this? LIGHTBULB! Â Set a timer! Â The first step I took was to set the timer on the stove every 2hrs. After the kids leave for school I have a cup of coffee with my Nutrisystem breakfast, once I finish eating I set the timer for 2hrs. Â Then I make my Nutrisystem shake, fill my water bottle and turn on the computer. When the timer beeps (10 a.m) I have my Nutrisystem Protein shake and set the timer again for 2hrs and go back to work.
Nutrisystem Protein Shake, Considered a “Power Fuel” 15grams of Protein and only 120 calories!Â
(This is the coffee flavor, it is my favorite. It tastes just like a frothy, creamy coffee ice cream shake!)
At Noon when the timer goes off I eat my Nutrisystem Lunch and set it again, back to work I go.  The last time in the day that it goes off is 2pm.  This is when I have a snack, fill my water bottle again and stand there trying to think of ways to exercise.  The whole plan works AMAZING!  However….. every single day I have to stop and try to figure out what to do for exercise.
I do not own any fitness equipment, we have 3ft of snow on the ground and icy roads. Â So what do I do ? Â My husband came up with a great idea one day, Â he said run up and down the stairs to the basement. Â We live in a ranch style home so they are the only set we have, luckily the entry to the basement is big, open, not spider filled and has cement stairs. Â Pretty comfortable for what he suggested so I tried it. Â Great idea ! Â 15 minutes every day at 2pm after my Mid day snack and then I pick up the house, get the girls their snack and be ready for them to come home at 3. Â Â This has been great.
I try to stay off the computer between the time the girls get home and supper (it does not always work, but for the most part I can) so during this time I have no problems keeping moving.  I have , however, found myself not wanting to sit right down after dinner to work more.  I feel so full after eating that if I sit down I feel extremely lazy and even though I ate the correct portion size, I feel as though I chowed down on a Thanksgiving Day meal.  So either I do the dishes and clean the kitchen or find something else.  I cook, so I do not clean, hubby does that for me after dinner and I do not want him to start slacking soooo  😉  I had to find something else to do after dinner.
How I walk around my 4 acre snow covered property for exercise
We have a rather rambunctious 1yr old puppy, she is a mix breed and we know she has husky and border collie in her, ya. Needless to say, she loves to run around especially in the snow.  So outside I go.  After dinner I have been putting on my boots and trudging around our property through the snow with the dog.  We have 4 acres and the house sits perfectly so that I can walk around it then straight down the side yard along the brook and back up around. If this is not exercise I do not know what is.  I feel as though I am going to die when I get back to the house haha!  It is  A  LOT of work!  That snow is deep and those boots are heavy!  No matter how hard it is, I always feel good about doing it.
My point here is that you do not need a gym membership or equipment in your house to get exercise!  Use your imagination and as long as you get up and get moving it is something!  🙂
