One Home Project At A Time
One Home Project At A Time

I know I can’t be the only person who thinks of home improvement projects and cringes. I am a person who doesn’t like to spend a lot of money at one time but I also like our home to feel welcoming and while we have tried very hard to get the interior remodeling finished, the exterior has been sadly overlooked.
Exterior home improvement projects worry me the most. I am quick to pick out paint shades for the interior, but something about siding and roofing samples just make me anxious all over! I have ideas, but always wonder if we are making the right choices and of course I want to get products that have a lasting warranty, especially when deciding on roofing because let’s face it who wants to be climbing up there every couple of months after just a few years have passed? In our ventures of checking out roofing for our home of course I have used the internet for hours on end and came upon Roofing Tampa, FL and really like things they have to offer. When you have someone on your roof you want to make sure that they know what they are doing.
Something else that I look forward to in our remodeling experience is adding on a front porch. It’s the south, y’all. There is nothing we love more than front porch sitting with some good ice cold sweet tea. Again in comes roofing because this porch would have to be covered and we would want it to match the rest of the roofing not only on our home, but also our nearby garage and even the chicken coop. See– stressful! HA!
I have a vision for our home and while it does take a lot of time, money and experienced contractors, family and friends to make this vision come to pass I now know that there are certain things that we shouldn’t pinch pennies on and roofing is one of those things.
We have a home improvement section on the blog if you would like to follow our journey. I plan to start before and after photos of our projects and keep everyone informed. This house was built in 1955 and while it means a lot to us because my husband’s grandparents raised their family here for the most part it is definitely dated and we can’t wait to make it more modern in some areas while leaving the “classic” feel as well.
Are you a DIY person or do you hire the pros to work on projects? I think I am a mixture of both. In 2013 I did a kitchen remodel here the week of Thanksgiving… with a 5 month old baby. Talk about insanity at its finest!! Painting, new appliances and all.
I guess I will get back to browsing Home Depot for the latest colors, trends and make up my mind because as winter may be long here I can’t wait for spring to come to start our projects again.
