Pawscout Review
I received the mentioned products from Pawscout in exchange for an honest review. The opinions contained within this post are mine and may vary from the opinions of others.
About Pawscout: Microchip information goes out of date, and reading a microchip requires a trip to the vet. GPS trackers are expensive out of the box, tack on hefty fees each month and need to be charged every few days or they don’t work! Pawscout is affordable and never needs to be charged. What We Thought: We have quite a few animals running around here. We do have a yard that is pretty much escape proof, but anything can happen and we want to be sure that we are prepared JUST IN CASE.
Pawscout offered me 2 of their social GPS pet trackers for review and I kindly accepted. I knew right away that one was going to be used for our new puppy Buddy and the other would be used for our insanely large Siamese cat named Fat-Fat.
Getting these ordered was a cinch. I was able to customize the name tags and everything in mere minutes and the order was processed quickly.
The order arrived at our house via USPS. I wanted to get them on our pets as quickly as possible. As always with new products I want to inspect them especially knowing we have a puppy who puts things in his mouth and a toddler as well. Have to make sure everything is safe. These passed and I was really impressed with how durable these are and knew once I put them on a collar they would be there to stay.
I added the name plates to the GPS tracker which was as easy as removing a protective backing from the adhesive. There was a little groove to slide it onto and then we were set.
Downloading the app was easy, too. I just did a search on the Google Play store and found the app right away. The download did not take a lot of space on my phone and making the account and setting up the pets was done within minutes as well. I was even able to add pictures of each pet to their profiles.
I did a check and sure enough when I tracked our puppy Buddy our home popped right up on the map. This gave me a peace of mind.
There is also a leash style feature that alerts me when these guys get out of range. Having a puppy who likes to try his boundaries makes this feature really nice to have.
I am really impressed with Pawscout and so is Buddy– Here he is wearing his!
