The Home Security Superstore sent us this amazing outdoor motion detector for our driveway. I have always wanted a driveway alarm because even though we have dogs, sometimes they are inside being lazy and not able to alert us to someone being in our driveway. I am not one that prefers surprise company and while we do have a Ring camera set up, I wanted something more that would alert from the roadway that someone was pulling in.

From the minute I opened this package (which shipped via FedEx) I was really happy. It included everything I needed to install including a tiny screwdriver and all of the screws. I always worry I am going to need help with installing new gadgets and I knew I would be able to do this by myself with absolutely no issues.

I had this ready to use within minutes with 4 screws into the fence post and was ready to get the indoor unit set up. This was also extremely easy.

Yes, my heeler left a mark on this review with a hair on the unit screen. As you all know she does make an appearance on the blog from time to time and this time it was just a subtle hair that I noticed when I downloaded the photo. SO hello from Maggie.

Now we did have to adjust the “eye” of the sensor because it was picking up vehicles coming and going down the road and while we live in a rural area I didn’t like the false alarms that this provided, but an easy fix was just tilting the unit slightly and we were good to go. Other than this we have had absolutely no issues and we have gotten an alert on the inside unit with every vehicle coming and going. Goodbye to surprise guests– plus this gives me time to get my dogs put up before the knock at the door.

This unit is made in brown and camo, which I prefer the brown as it isn’t noticed on the post at all.
