Target & My Hopes for Black Friday

Everyone knows I absolutely love Target and everything about it, especially their infamous Black Friday sales. I am happy to say that this year I am a Red Card member which gets me some bonus savings and other great rewards for being a member as well. I love that with the Red Card I can pay my balance in full every month and still save a great deal of money.

This year for Black Friday I am hoping to really knock out a pile of Christmas shopping and I will have the help of our friends over at Slick Deals to help us with the best of the best sayings.

This year my shopping list is very different from years in the past. I have one child who is older now. Jack is 6 and wants literally nothing but Lego stuff. (My poor feet!!) Our younger Willie is 2 1/2 and is fascinated by farm animals, barns and tractors which makes gifts from Melissa & Doug perfect for him as well as other fun gifts.

We decided to scale back this year. The kids get so many amazing things from the blog and they get to be hands on with so many toys throughout the year that I honestly feel they are exposed to so many toys that the holidays can be more about making memories and keeping certain traditions alive. I still want to do gifts, don’t get me wrong but I also want to instill in these kids that life and the holidays are not just about getting. The holidays are about giving, making memories and also creating new memories and traditions as the years go by.

This year will be no different than others in the fact that I am looking for the best deals to make sure the boys (and my husband) get exactly what they want this year. I joke that I have 3 boys to buy for, but in reality I do mean that fully and know that I need to be on the look out to get the most bang for my buck especially when we have other things I like to do this time of year.

Take time out to make memories and honor the traditions of those who have passed on. We enjoy hosting a big Christmas Eve celebration here each year with my Dad’s family. We have a big meal and watch the kids open their gifts. It is so much fun!
