What We Thought
When this box arrived I was absolutely blown away. The literal freshness just erupted from the box and I have to say that each package only provided a bigger and bigger smile. My boys were very excited to have some fresh produce since our garden has been finished for the year for a bit.
We unwrapped each bag (yes right in the middle of the living room HA!) and everything smelled heavenly.
The information included was great. I loved reading about the farm and knowing the process for how these veggies were harvested. There was even a coupon enclosed from Barilla to get some pasta and an adorable magnet which is proudly displayed on my fridge.
We decided to get everything washed up and put away quickly because I had plans for each item in my mind. A vegetable beef soup, fried potatoes, and many other ideas flowed as I washed and stored each individual item.
These flowers instead of dining purposes were displayed in a bowl of water and brightened the mood. October in Virginia can be kinda drab and I needed to see these bring life into our home.
Willie our youngest saw the carrots and absolutely had to dig in immediately. A quick run to the sink to rinse and he dove in:
Last Sunday we took some of the potatoes and made an amazing brunch of steak, eggs and fried potatoes.
Knowing where our food comes from is very important. We locally source our beef and pork and having a place to get vegetables this time of year makes us even more happy.
