The Fun of Being Your Own Boss
Several years ago I decided that the best thing for our family was that I turn my blogging hobby into a career. The idea of doing this didn’t come easy, but in fact it was quite hard. I didn’t know if I would be successful, if I could keep up with everything here at home and run a business and on top of all of that homeschool our son. Before I could blink I was knee deep in my business, added a new baby and some extra pets.
One part of owning my own business is needing to know the needs of my customers. In comes great guided tour software which tells me where needs are and how I can better meet them as a business owner. Knowing what the need is can be a huge struggle for someone, especially in the type of business that I am in. I constantly look at analytics and other things in determining what my customers/readers need.
Learning about product usage analytics is beneficial to other business owners as well, not just ones like myself. Larger companies are using these types of statistics to make sure that their customers are always happy with the way the business is going. Knowing the needs keeps the customer coming back instead of looking to have their needs met in other places.
I am happy to say that in the last several years my business has grown in leaps and bounds and I have been able to retain clients at a great rate due to the fact that I know what my readers are looking for and what they are reading the most of on the blog. It is a great feeling to know that I am not only living my dreams by working from home and spending time with my family, but I am also building a business that keeps my customers coming back. At the end of the day the day being able to feel successful is an amazing thing.
How do you manage your business and make sure both your needs as a business owner are being met as well as the needs of your customers? I would love to delve more into this throughout 2018 and see how we can all build and grow together. Please feel free to share your thoughts below in the comments.
