About Sticks and Stones
We want to be thought-provoking
The Sticks and Stones line’s desire is to be thought-provoking by using thought-provoking images and words of encouragement. We will use our visual voice to turn negative thoughts and/or concepts to positive thoughts at the same time building the self-esteem of both the wearer and the viewer. Our society went from simple teasing to full-blown bullying, therefore the saying that is still true through the ages, “sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never harm me.”
Most little boys start out as a rookie on a sports team. This image is to show that while playing sports is encouraged reading and education should be primary. It gives boys the idea that they are rookies and they are in training, and one day they will become a King of their destiny. There is a time to play and a time to learn, we want to provoke the thought that learning doesn’t stop.
What We Thought
In the home school community it is often hard to communicate a reason why we aren’t more “traditional” when it comes to education and especially when it comes to sports. We like it all and we want our kids to experience it all. Jack loves running/jogging for sport and Willie while being a bit too young to enroll in sports has shown a great love for both basketball and football. I love that there are companies who express our true feelings in relation to education and sports in the form of clothing that our boys can proudly wear.
Our boys are rookies right now and they are preparing to be a King one day. I love that these shirts promote everything we are teaching the boys right now and until they are old enough to make decisions on their own. We are preparing them and in preparing them education is first and foremost. I have told Jack over and over that reading and writing are a gateway to everything in this world. Once he knows how to do both in a proficient way he will be able to do so many things that as adults we take for granted such as reading a recipe to prepare a favorite meal or even just knowing how to tell time.
This year for Christmas we are scaling back in our homes. We are doing more traditional things, reading a lot of Christmas books, watching movies and enjoying spending time together as a family. We are having more get togethers and inviting family and friends to celebrate fellowship with us. We are deleting things that deplete us of our energy and also of our money. I love that I can shop Sticks and Stones and get the boys things that they need (clothing in particular) and not worry that we are supporting a big box store.
This holiday season think Sticks and Stones for your gifting. We have chosen to add Sticks and Stones to our 2019 Holiday Gift Guide because these clothes not only have a true meaning, but they are also durable and have held up to the wear of our rough and tumble boys. The shirts featured are from their Prince line and are $28.00 each.
