Tips to Create Outstanding Business Cards

If you run your own business and you want people to remember who you are and recommend your services to their friends and family, it is essential that you have quality business cards printed. For business cards or a folio collection, it is always best to go to an experienced imaging and printing company such as Black River Imaging. All business cards are not created equal. If you don’t include the right information on your card, it could be the difference between generating a lot of business, or having your card thrown into the circular file. Let’s take a look at the most important things you need to consider in order to create outstanding business cards.

1. Don’t leave out important information

One of the most common mistakes people make when they have business cards created is omitting critical information. Obviously, potential customers will need to be able to contact you if they want to use your services. You should always include the following information: office address, email address, phone numbers (fax, cell, office) and your name. If you use Facebook, Twitter or other forms of social media, you should include that info as well. Your business will appear to be more credible if you include a lot of contact info on your card.

2. Your photo

If you attend large networking events, your card will be exchanged with many people. If your photo is not on your business card, it will be very difficult for people to remember your face and associate it with your card. Keep in mind that there are usually hundreds of business cards exchanged at these events. If a person sees your cards a few days or weeks later, seeing your photo will instantly remind them of their encounter with you. They are more likely to remember what you discussed and any sales pitch you made to them. A photo allows your card to be memorable and stand out from the crowd.

3. Don’t use cheap paper

People will notice if you skimp on the quality of paper you use. If you want your business to be taken seriously and seem more professional, invest in paper that not only looks good, but has a nice feel to it.

Business cards help to get the name of your company out there. It is a great way to advertise what you do. The more care you put into designing your card, the better your results will be.
