Valentine’s Day with Mionetto
We received the mentioned product in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts contained within this post are ours and may vary from the thoughts of others.
After marriage, kids, jobs and other commitments that often take precedence over romance and really “dating” your spouse I feel that Mionetto allows us to bring the date night home. This makes things SO nice for us. Living in a rural area where many things close early in the evenings and babysitters are hard to come by at times I love being able to unwind with my husband right in the comforts of our own home with high quality products that we would order in restaurants anyway.
Recently we did some experimenting with making our own mimosa bar. This was something that was not only fun, but we were able to include family in it as well. Often just having other adults in the home to help with the kids is something that we may take for granted. Allowing someone to just make a plate for a child is a relief.
Anyway… fast forward to Valentine’s Day which is on the horizon. Our own mimosa bar is awaiting us, but what did we add to it? This was a fun adventure to the internet which gave some great add-in items. Berries.com had some fun ideas that we played off of but kinda put our own twist on things, too.
We learned that 1 bottle of Mionetto would provide about 8 glasses or maybe a bit more depending on how “boozy” we wanted to be. We went with 100% orange juice that had zero pulp as our juice, but many people are experimenting with other things, too. Now the fun part was adding in the fruit. We went simple at first and sliced blood oranges which added a pop of color and also a great taste. Here are some other ideas:
Juices: orange, mixed berry, cucumber, grapefruit, lavender lemonade, passion fruit, guava, pomegranate
Purees: strawberry, pear, peach, mango, kiwi, pineapple
Garnishes: berries, citrus fruits, mint, thyme, candied ginger, rock candy sticks, consumable flowers
Decor Ideas: fresh flowers, confetti, garland, banners, DIY glitter bottles, straws, coasters, flute charms
Optional: flavored liqueur, flavored syrups, sherbets
Keeping things simple for a date night at home we will more than likely just have some orange juice, Mionetto and some citrus fruits that we had at home already. Keeping things simple means less clean up, more time to enjoy the company of my lovely husband and great tasting beverages without the work.
In the comments below leave your favorite mimosa ideas. We are always open to hearing more and would love to hear everyone’s thoughts.
