Why I Enjoy Blogging
Eight years ago seems like an eternity of time on certain days, but other days feels like just yesterday. I was a blogger before I was a wife, before I was a mother and before I owned a zoo full of animals. I have been a blogger longer than I have been out of college; longer than so many other things that are important in my life. This is the one constant thing in my life that I always go back to for so many reasons.
Blogging has been a source of frustration release, a way to experience life events by way of sponsored material and a way to make money for my family. Blogging has been a source of entertainment but also a way to express myself when words didn’t seem to come any other way. I have worked for other people as a freelance writer but at the end of the day Product Review Cafe is where I come home to roost.
I tend to look at other bloggers who are also photographers and use blogging to get more exposure to their busiensses such as Blake Rubin. It is so easy to find blogs on the internet but only a few actually keep my attention and keep me coming back for more. I tend to browse other blogs to see what they are writing about and also follow some as part of a blogging series where there will be a stream of articles about the same topic spread out over days or even weeks and months.
For me writing about our experiences with products as a product review has been a way for my family to experience new things as well as for our boys to try out a lot of fun toys and games and get us together as a family for even more fun than ever before.
Our kids don’t know anything but living the blogging life and while it may seem strange to those who are outside looking in, this is the normal for us and we absolutely love it. One of the best experiences I have ever had was fulfilling a bucket list item of mine by taking a horseback ride through the mountains of the beautiful state of West Virginia. It was stunning and a way to not only unwind but to give me followers and readers a taste of a place that we like to call our home away from home.
If you are thinking about blogging for either a hobby or a career there is no better time than the present. Jump in with both feet and you may be surprised where even a hobby can take you in life. We absolutely love this life and I wouldn’t trade being home with my boys every day and being able to homeschool because of my work schedule for the world. We are able to work around my husband’s work schedule and have a lot of fun while many others are working a “normal” job.
