Just like any other insect species, Wolf spiders also come in a variety of types. Depending upon the genra, the wolf spiders can vary in body sizes. Some wolf spiders have small body sizes that are less than 0.4” while some have larger body sizes that are as big as 1.38”.

Regardless of the sizes and the variety of wolf spiders, all of them consists of 8 eyes, arranged in 3 separate rows. They have four eyes on the bottom row, two large and prominent eyes on the middle row and two medium-sized eyes on the top row. Because of a number of eyes, wolf spiders have excellent vision and depends on their vision:  when they are out for hunting.

Fortunately, wolf spiders only bite if they feel threatened. However, these spiders are venomous and can cause reactions in human beings. Most of the people think that these spiders are dangerous because they have venom, however, this is not actually the case. According to the number of studies, wolf spider’s venom is not that potent enough to cause serious risk for the human beings. Their bite can be painful but it is not toxic enough to kill a human (unless he is allergic to spider’s venom).
