WONDER CREW WINS DOLL OF THE YEAR!

Being a Boy Mom often it becomes so hard to keep hearing that certain toys are “for girls” when I want our boys to grow up with nurturing souls and learn to be great caring young men and one day be a Daddy to their own babies. I know that my husband had a doll growing up and I feel that it really helps boys to develop skills that they will use throughout their entire life. He still mentions his doll that had the eyes that closed by themselves when you laid it down.

We invited a Wonder Crew doll into our home when we added baby #2. Actually they both came home on the same day. We wanted to give Jack something he could care for at the same time that I was devoting extra time to Willie. This doll has sparked Jack’s imagination as well as taught him how to care and love something all of his own. I love that these dolls also come with different outfits that also spark even more imagination.

I learned today that the Wonder Crew Doll has won Doll of the Year at the Toy of the Year Awards! This is so exciting for me and shows that the world we live in is truly changing in the right direction even at a time that we may feel it isn’t.

This small scrappy company got its start through a Kickstarter campaign 3 years ago — I had this dream to bring nurturing, connection and empathy to ‘boys’ play’ because it needed to be there.  The goal all along was for Wonder Crew to go mainstream in efforts to create a larger social impact and it’s happening.  Thanks to so many of you, IT IS HAPPENING!
