The Carpenter in Theaters November 1
Many thanks to Three Coin Productions for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
Typically it takes me a moment to get into the vibe of a movie, but I sat down to watch this with our pre-teen son and we were both amazed from the moment it started. I am absolutely recommending this movie to everyone. So what is it about?
An unconventional parable as action packed as it is faith-promoting. The Carpenter is an action film that explores Nazareth in 29 A.D. with music, fight sequences, and a carpenter. An adopted viking orphan becomes a carpenter’s apprentice to Jesus. The orphan, Oren, fights as a side hustle. His experience training as a carpenter with Jesus as his mentor changes his lifestyle.
I feel that this is a movie I will think about for a long time after watching because it has been on my mind since we saw it. It opened a lot of communication with our son and for that I am always thankful. We watched Oren go from a life of fighting to becoming a follower of Jesus. Jesus made him an apprentice and he learned so much by just following him and learning without really questioning why. This is a huge life lesson for any Christian.
Also I felt that this movie wasn’t “dated” like a lot of other films based on this era and was more modern so my son was able to relate to it and I was too. He mentioned that the music was some of his favorite and he said he believes this is one of the best movies he has ever seen which meant a lot to me because we have always been “movie people.”
