Fighting Boredom with Apostrophe Puzzles

I am not a person that likes to sit idle and do nothing but recently during recovery from a very large hernia surgery I found myself using a word I had not used in ages and had pretty much banned from my vocabulary– BORED. I couldn’t lift much, my appetite was pretty much nonexistent and when I was hungry the list of things I could actually eat was so small that I wanted to just push the plate away and not touch anything. I couldn’t drink soda, couldn’t have any caffeine at all and honestly hit some pretty low points.

A friend suggested doing puzzles since I could sit pretty comfortably as long as I was able to get up and move around pretty often and I remembered I had this awesome puzzle from Apostrophe Puzzles.

I found that after not doing puzzles for years (not even sure if I have done one since becoming an adult) that this was not only calming but helped distract my mind from all of the things I had going on at the time and made me able to exhaust my mind enough to actually relax and get some rest.

This 1000 piece puzzle took hours and occupied me and actually made me want to take up puzzle building again especially as colder days set in and outdoor chores become scarcer. I found that Apostrophe Puzzles are not budget breakers and we actually have puzzle swaps in our county that allow people to trade and swap puzzles to get more. This one is in very high demand in our area and I am happy that it can be reused over and over to make it even more sustainable. I feel like by the time I get it swapped back I will do it again and actually frame it as a remembrance of things I have overcome this year as far as my health goes.
