The Benefits of Using an Online Pharmacy
These days life is just so hectic. It seems that every direction we turn there are more responsibilities and obligations that we absolutely have to meet and there are always deadlines and appointments that must be kept. It is often a hassle to pick up prescriptions or honestly it is so easy to forget until you run out of a medication or realize that you have no more refills on your automatic refill plan.
Recently we started using an online pharmacy and doctor service as well. I will use a situation recently where having an online doctor and pharmacy was a huge benefit for us.
Imagine my horror as a busy mom when last week we all were struck down by what I initially thought was just a cold. It turned out that 8 prescriptions later we had a very nasty infection that was leaving us weak, coughing, sore throats and all. Now, get this! I was able to hop on my phone using an app and visit a licensed doctor who could see that we were very sick. With that system he did call in prescriptions to our local pharmacy because we needed to get the medications started ASAP and my husband was able to pick them up, but often we could have the prescriptions mailed right to our door using another third party service. I didn’t have to drag my sick kids out of the house, I didn’t have to dress myself and I was able to start getting us all on the mend a lot faster without being exposed to germs in a doctor’s office.
Places like The Independent Pharmacy and others like it have the ability to send medications right to our door steps in a timely manner in discreet packaging. This is great for people like me who do not travel out of the home much during the week because of work and other things we have going on. I am a self professed home body anyway and anything I can have sent here that means I don’t have to step out just makes life a lot easier.
Online doctor and pharmacy services are also great for the elderly when they can’t get out a lot but need their medications on time. Some online pharmacies will often even do labeled daily packs that let you know what time you are supposed to take a medication which makes things even better. We loved these services when my grandparents were still alive so that we could know they were getting their medications but no one had time to run to the pharmacy or decide who was going to go.
Technology is definitely taking over our world, but in ways of online medicine I am 100% behind it because it makes life easier in an already complicated world.
