We have two cats that we adopted a few years ago, ages 2 and 5 . They are both fairly large cats (over 15lbs) and have always shared a food and water dish. They can make quite the mess , as you see above. Our youngest, Brady likes to play in the water instead of drinking it. He will actually paw at it and then lick his paw, crazy kitty!
About the Neater Feeder
The neater feeder is a two part system that works to help keep your pet’s food area clean. It comes with stainless steel dishes that sit inside of the top unit, which sits on the lower unit. The top has drain holes in it that allow any water or food that comes out of the dishes to fall through, keeping it contained and easy to clean. No more water spills or food on your floor or kick boards & walls.
The feeder is available in 4 different sizes : Cat, Small, Medium and Large. The neater feeder comes with risers so that you can adjust the height also. We received the Small Neater Feeder , which the company suggested (instead of the cat size) because our cats are larger and share a food dish. The first time my husband cleaned out the bottom of the neater feeder he could not believe how much water and wood was in there. It is a very convenience and clever product! This is a great review! I had wondered how the cat ones worked because all the reviews I have seen for the Neater Feeders so far are for dogs. I have two cats and a small dog (who is no taller than the cats). I have a hard time coming up with a solution for feeding for the cats because one of my cats is crippled and has visual perception issues. He was hit by a car and healed wrong before I got him from a shelter (a day before he was to be euthanized) in 2007. So his back legs are all messed up and super weak with no muscle mass. He also has problems going #2 in the litter box without someone holding him up (he falls over otherwise), though #1 doesn’t seem to be a problem, thank goodness. It’s been a long, hard road, and I think he’s in his last year. 🙁
Anyway, I think the Neater Feeder would be good for this particular cat because he won’t have to bend down as far, and the size of it with the large holder will help him locate the bowl itself. He is only 6 pounds but has a large bone frame. I have a hard time getting him to eat, mostly because he doesn’t like the food bowl set up, so i try to feed him by hand and supplement his diet with a high calorie gel the vet recommended. I need to get one like this to make eating easier on him. I’ll try to remember to come back and enter your giveaway on April 7!

The Neater Feeder really is neat because it keeps the food off the floor and the water is separate for a dog and cat. I like the maroon color and looks so fancy and would be nice to have for my dog!
