Berryplus Eco Effective Laundry Soap Review & Giveaway

I received a few bottles of Berryplus free for the purpose of this review, regardless my opinions are always true and my own. I always blog about my own personal experience with the products that I review.

What We Received

2  – 80+ Loads  bottles of Berryplus with dropper cover.    The convenient dropper makes it easy to measure out the small amount needed for each load.  Berryplus is formulated to wash a full load of laundry with just a small amount, rather than a large cap of regular detergent.

Berryplus Eco Effective Laundry Soap Softens & Cleans Naturally- Review

About Berryplus

The Berryplus natural detergent is made from Sapindus,  which Berryplus says grows “soapberries”.   These berries create a soapy effect when mixed with water and shaken up.  The bubbles attach to the dirt and oils on clothing and remove them. Similar to the same when lathering any other kind of soap, but without the chemicals.

The saponin extract is taken directly out of the berries for use in making their detergent. This creates a product that is free of fillers, parfumes, dyes and other substances that can cause irritation to the skin or be harmful for the environment.

Ingredients:

95% berry-based (berries + water)

4.5% vegetable glycerin (for stability and added softening)

0.3% olive-leaf extract (to kill bacteria and other junk)

0.1% each of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate (food-grade preservative to give Berryplus a shelf life)

What We Think

I have a hard time getting away from the fresh linen smell that you get from detergents and dryer sheets. I had to ignore the fact that this detergent did not really have a smell and realize that you do not need the smell to get your clothes clean.  I like that the Berryplus works best in cold water washes, because that is all we use.  After squirting a dropper full into the machine, I did see that it lathered up well and became pretty soapy.

We used this for 2 weeks straight to get a good idea of how well it cleans and I did see that it worked pretty well.  I would recommend the Berryplus for normal loads though and not heavily soiled items.  My daughter often gets coffee on her at work and this did not remove those stains.  I had to use my normal pre treat product to get it out.

This is a great product for someone who is looking to reduce the amount of chemicals they use and great for delicates !

I’ve seen the soapnuts before, but it’s nice that it comes in liquid form as well. I’m glad to know that although it does well in normal loads, stains will need to be pretreated.

I am always searching for laundry and cleaning supplies that my family can use. We are all very sensitive to additives and perfums.

I don’t like to use detergents with harsh chemicals in my laundry and I’d like to use something eco friendly and natural when cleaning my clothes. This would be perfect for that.

This laundry detergent sounds like a great product for me, as I have sensitive skin, and most other detergents tend to make my skin itch. It would be especially nice for my sheets and pillow cases, where my skin comes in contact with the most. Thanks for the great review and share.
