Comfort & Convenience In A Little Package- 2014 KIA Soul Car Review
About KIA: 2012 marked two notable accomplishments in the history of KMA. First, we recorded our best-ever annual sales total. And, second, we gained market share in the U.S. for the 18th year in a row. It’s an amazing time for Kia. And it’s reflection of our continuing focus on building the brand through design, innovation, quality, advanced safety features and new technologies.
We’re reaching milestones at an incredible pace. Which is a testament to the commitment of everyone at Kia. As a company and as individuals, we’re driving beyond past perceptions and discovering what’s possible. It’s always something new. We’re excited about where we are. We’re even more excited about where we’re going.
As always, our opinions are genuine and our own.
What we received: We got to try out the 2014 KIA SOUL in inferno red.
My Top 5 Favorite Things About The KIA SOUL:
Keyless Entry/Start: The SOUL has keyless entry and was push start. I really liked this, though it did take some getting used to. I always felt like I was forgetting something, namely my keys. If you have a habit or losing your keys or locking yourself out, this is a must have. It also works in the way that, say your doors were locked you could just push a little button on the outside of the door to open it as long as you had the little key on you. Great for if your hands are full!
Heated Steering Wheel: I have heard of heated seats before, but never a heated steering wheel. I think this was one of my favorite things about the SOUL. Now if only it had a cooling option as well, for those hot sunny days when you get in and your vehicle is about 300 degrees. Oh ya, I feel it coming.
Heated and Cooled Seats: See, now just move this technology to the steering wheel and boom! Got it! The SOUL had the heated seat option for both the driver and passenger seats, but also had a cool option. I thought that was really neat especially for hot summer days.
Sunroof: Ok so, plenty of vehicles have sunroofs out there and I have seen some here or there that were pretty neat, but never like this one. The sun roof literally seemed to go from one end of the car to the other. It was seriously the biggest sunroof I have ever seen!
Rear Camera Display: I have never used a backup camera before in any vehicle I have driven so I really enjoyed having this. I feel spoiled now getting to try one and going back to my vehicle that just does not seem to measure up anymore! It is a handy feature for those who have a hard time turning around in their seat or just want a little more reassurance.
Things I Didn’t Like or Care For:
Trunk Space: I think the main thing I do not care for is the limited trunk space. It was a lot less than what I am used to. There are little compartments under the initial trunk for storage but it would definitely be an adjustment and something I would have to get used to. There may be those who are use to that and would not miss it.
No Spare Tire: Because of the smaller trunk size and compartments there is no room for a spare tire. This is something that is a personal issue or not, for me I have road side assistance so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. However, there are those who would feel lost without it.
What We Thought: Overall I would absolutely buy the KIA SOUL. I really liked so many of the features and how roomy it was. There was so much more I liked about this than not. My favorite feature by far is the heated and cooled seats with the rear camera in close second.
Value: The startingMSRP for the 2014 KIA SOUL is $14,900.00. I don’t think I even need to point out how inexpensive that is for a brand new vehicle of any kind. Of course your price will raise depending on what options you choose to add on and what features you want, but the base features and price are just right.
