Lead Management: Why & How

Lead management is a set of methodologies, systems, and practices designed to generate new potential business clientele, generally operated through a variety of marketing campaigns or programs according to Wikipedia.

I focus on getting leads to business’ in the blog world to keep the best product reviews coming to my readers. This is a constant changing world and I feel that it takes so much time to curate content and make sure that my leads are on the same page as I am so that no one leaves with any surprises. I also like to make sure that experiences on both sides are positive to build lasting collaborations.

Being a blogger off and on for the last 8 years has given me the opportunity to work with people all over the world and while I have built relationships that have lasted since day 1 while we build new relationships sometimes daily. I like to be really personal in my replies to new collaborations and have become friends with others and we share our own triumphs and even tragedies together. This is what being a small business is about and while I don’t see these people face to face we have put pictures to names on the screens and often even voices across Skype and even telephone conferences.

Other business people enjoy using lead management software and services such as Pronexis + lead handling service. Why though? A lot of companies that have many customer service reps have a hard time keeping them. (Industry average is 9 months.) This is bad for you and your brand. Experience matters. I feel that if I was a bigger organization I would absolutely utilize lead management services simply because managing a lot of leads for multiple people is really hard work. It is hard enough sometimes with just 1 person and while I love my job sometimes I spend hours per day answering emails and nailing down collaborations for myself and my writers.
