Craft Cuts Custom Designed Wooden Letters Review & Giveaway
Craft Cuts Custom Designed Wooden Letters Review & Giveaway
I love anything that I can design myself. My husband and I are pretty handy people and we build everything on our own. Â We are always picking up wood and materials here and there, so that we have them on hand when a project comes about. Â Our latest project was started back in April, we built a chicken coop for our chicks (first timers). Now, we are no expert carpenters that is for sure, but it came out pretty good and my girls seem to love it ! Â Below is a before and after picture.
As cute as it is, Â I felt something was missing. Â Call me crazy, but I have always thought it was funny (in a cute way) Â that people name their chicken coops like Coop-De-Ville and such. We are have a very nice home with a gorgeous property, my husband and I work hard to maintain it. Â When we decided to have chickens, I wanted a coop that would look good and match the house, not be an eye sore. Â So while some may call it over kill, Â I am in love with it.
When Craft Cuts offered a review of their custom wooden letters, I knew instantly what I was going to do with them. Â Oh yes, on the coop they would go. Â The letters I designed were not made for outdoor decor, however I ordered the unfinished style so that we could prime, paint and protect them.
A quick video about Craft Cuts –Â
The Craft Cuts website has a huge selection of styles, shapes and designs. You are almost certainly going to find something to fit your needs. The custom design tool was very simple to use.  Basically you just select your letters, in this case I chose the Unpainted Baltic Birch Wood Letters .  Type in the words you want, select a font, choose a thickness of the letters and finish! It was so easy.
Sometimes custom designed products can take longer to ship, but I received these very quickly. I want to say that it was within 5 days of ordering.
To prepare these for outdoor use, we primed them and then painted with white exterior paint. I then coated them with a clear acrylic made to protect paint. Â The placement on the coop is under the roof and under a window box planter, so they are somewhat protected from the elements. Initially I planned on using a liquid nails glue product to attach these to the chicken coop, but I found some perfect size white finishing nails in our garage. Â Not one single letter cracked when I was putting them up.
We are getting a lot of compliments from our neighbors and a lot of questions about where we got the letters. I had a few people ask if I made them (I wish I had that talent!) .  For more information or to check out additional designs and letters please visit CraftCuts.com .

I also get a charge out of creating something on my own. my favorite is bird houses. I’d love to use these wooden letters to name my bird housing options and feeder stations.
