Low Fat High Protein Homemade Turkey Meatball Subs
Low Fat High Protein Homemade Turkey Meatball Subs
This recipe is a low fat version of a huge family favorite,  meatball subs. These turkey meatball subs are made on smaller, but thick  hot dog buns from the bakery so they can withstand the sauce without falling apart. This also helps to maintain portion control. Each roll holds 3 meatballs which is exactly the serving size. The cheese is also low fat provolone, which is made with a skim milk.
Be sure to purchase the 97% fat free ground turkey, this is mostly white meat. Â The others contain dark meat which is higher in fat and will have the same nutrition facts or worse than beef. Â You can also use the 90/10 or 80/20 version of the beef !
